CAI Internship Programme: Call for applications

CAI Internship Programme CAI's internship programme runs on a six-monthly cycle, and is open to aspiring post-graduate students with an interest in Africa. CAI's interns become involved in research and writing on trends and developments in a relevant field, and are given the opportunity to:

  • author/co-author editorial-style discussion pieces, potentially published on CAI's website and shared with our content partners;
  • acquire valuable experience and develop essential skills in research and consultancy; and
  • work with CAI's passionate and highly experienced consulting team.

The internships are un-remunerated and web-based (i.e. successful applicants are not required to relocate). Interns who perform well during their internship may be (a) given an opportunity to contribute to CAI's tailored research; (b) offered an internship extension; and/or (c) offered a position on our consultancy team.

Who should apply:

The CAI internship programme is open to Master’s and Doctoral students in applicable fields of study (Economics, International Relations, Journalism, Law, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, etc). Applicants should:

  • possess strong writing ability and research skills;
  • have an interest in, and a passion for Africa;
  • be motivated to acquire relevant experience and exposure;
  • be diligent and reliable; and
  • have relevant experience.

When to apply

CAI's internship programme for the second half of 2014 is at full capacity, and we are therefore not currently accepting any applications.

The next round of the CAI internship programme will run from 1 January 2015 to 30 June 2015. We will be accepting applications for the next round between 1 September 2014 and 15 December 2014. Details on how to apply are outlined below.
